Easy ride today through the hills and forests of northern Wisconsin.

Up and down the roller coasters hills:
After the past couple of hard days on the U.P. I needed as easy day, so it was nice to have a short day today. I am staying at a lake near Boulder Junction with friends of friends. It is so nice to have generous offers of hospitality from friends, friends of friends, and Warmshowers hosts along the way. It’s really a great way for me to get to know local people and learn more about the areas where I am traveling. Today I want to find out more about the glacial geology of Wisconsin, so my host is providing a good overview. Last night, my Warmshowers hosts gave me a boat tour around Big Sand Lake, including a large resort at the far end and an Al Capone house (mansion!) at the near part of the lake. As well as a great view of eagles soaring overhead.
The weather is cooler today, and predicted to be much cooler the next few days. I’m thinking that I will take a zero day in Boulder Junction and head to Mercer on Monday, after the upcoming storm has gone by and my legs have gotten a little bit of needed recovery time.

Rock on Judy.. This is Lynn who transported you across the Mackinac Bridge.. With great admiration, I wish you a safe and healthy trip!!
Looks like you had the perfect bike ride yesterday. And now a day safe from the wet and wild weather you have been braving. Nice planning! Keep up the hard work and your good postings. So nice to read along with you.
