68-Troy, Montana- Clark Fork, Idaho

Another spectacular day! I enjoyed the early morning ride on Bull Lake Road — quiet, almost deserted, (cold):

I had to climb a few hills to get to Bull Lake. Below the lake, I followed the Bull River, which eventually flows into the Clark Fork River.

The river meanders within a broad valley, with views to the Cabinet Mountains:

There were bighorn sheep along the road (the one in the middle has the best horns):

After making it through some road construction in the last five miles of Montana, I crossed ino Idaho (and the Pacific time zone!):

Tomorrow I will ride to Sandpoint, and stay there two nights. It will be nice to have a day off.

  1. Sand Point will feel like a big city compared with where you’ve been. Enjoy the rest day — the passes of Washington await! Congrats on your progress — you can almost smell the salt water from there…. — Dave

  2. Your photos get more beautiful each day! I’ve so enjoyed following your trip. So impressed that you are already in Idaho! Great going, it will be boring when you are home and there are no more adventures to follow.

    1. I’m looking forward to being at home and even being bored! But no one will want to read about it, so no more blog. The mountains here are so beautiful and I love taking pictures and sharing them.
