19.8 miles out and back
I visited the North Dakota capitol building and the Heritage Center museum of North Dakota history, geology, agriculture, resource development (mining, oil), and weaving, knitting and embroidery. Something for everyone!
This has been a good break. The weather is continuing to be very hot, so my plan is to ride to Dickinson over the next 3 days (about 100 miles). That means I will be in Medora next Sunday. Medora is a big tourist destination so there will be plenty to do and plenty of food.
Thanks again to my hosts in Bismarck. They have been wonderful and this break has made all the difference to me.

Glad to hear that you are chillaxin’ in Bismarck. Your ride up ahead has some stretches on the Interstate (there are no alternatives), but traffic is light and shoulders are wide. Enjoy Richardton (check out the Abbey), then Dickerson. Then you’ll love Medora and the Teddy R. National Park. Next day you’re into a new (albeit large) state! — Dave
Glad to hear you are adjusting your ride to meet your needs. It’s your ride after all. And no matter what you do, I am behind you, and wishing you well, and some fun and interesting times.
Hi Judy. Sounds hot! Great idea to keep the miles short. I hear that thinking about ice and snow will keep you cool. Let me know if that works. Stay safe.
