Everyone talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it. Maybe not a quote from Mark Twain.
Here the talk is of the cold and wet spring. One farmer told me today that the corn should be a foot high by now but instead it’s barely out of the ground. And they can’t plant the tomatoes yet and in the meantime the seedlings all died so they have to buy new ones.
I saw a couple of these barns with quilt designs. Apparently they are found throughout Ontario. This one is quite nice:

And I stopped in front of this abandoned farmhouse because there was a car stopped off the road and two people were taking pictures of it.
I met one other touring cyclist today and one yesterday. I think they were a lot happier about the wind than me.

You are making great progress. I had dinner in Ridgetown before camping on the Lake Erie shore by Morepeth. If you go through Dresden, stop at the fascinating Underground Railroad museum there: Uncle Tom’s Cabin Historic Site. You should get back into the states tomorrow after crossing the St. Claire River on a cute little ferry! Onward for a long stretch through the diverse state of Michigan.
I hope I will make better progress tomorrow so I have time for a stop in Dresden. Looking forward to the ferry to Michigan.
