No riding today. My bike and I took a break from each other. The weather was cloudy, 60s, and no rain. So I had a chance to explore the tourist sights.
Best view of the falls was from the river just above Horseshoe Falls (Canadian side). There are rapids and standing waves in the river above the falls, and then the water just goes over the edge:

From below the falls, the mist obscures much of the view. And you get wet.
For most tourists, I guess that just looking at a waterfall gets boring after a few minutes. Fortunately, just across the street there are many options to keep everyone entertained:
There is a lot of water going over the falls – 4 million cfs (cubic feet per second) on average. By comparison, average flow in the Snoqualmie River is less than 4 thousand cfs on average (below the falls). But Snoqualmie Falls are higher – 268 ft. drop compared to 167 ft. drop for Niagara Falls. Also, no ferris wheel, wax museum or Guinness Book of World Records “museum” at Snoqualmie Falls. That’s the way we like it in Washington.

I will make sure to put that town on my bucket list. More seriously at well over 500 miles you already have a substantial ride completed. Too bad about weather challenges. Beautiful right now in Seattle!
