12-Medina-Lockport: “Dust Control”

“Dust control” — that’s what my favorite tunnel superintendent would say (in his Irish brogue) every time we had rain at the job site (Brightwater). So I had plenty of dust control today. Fortunately a short ride to Lockport. 

I passed a canal worker who was walking the trail checking for leaks from the canal. And I saw a barge heading downstream:


I ducked into a coffee place next to Lock 34 to dry out and warm up a little. In the meantime the rain is coming down more intensely than ever. I want to see the canal museum here and look at Lock 34 and the Flight of Five – the series of five locks on the original canal that bring it up onto the Niagara escarpment. 

This could explain why I am so wet:
