I had a short ride today on the Canalway Trail, stopped at a bike shop in Pittsford for a few repairs, and met my friend who lives in Rochester there. It’s nice to have such a short day – which feels like a day off! I’m taking advantage of the chance to do laundry and sort through all the stuff I am carrying to see what can be jettisoned. I’m also looking ahead to the next few days in terms of weather (rain from Wed night to Friday morning!) and possible places to stay so I can continue to avoid camping in the rain.
The Canalway Trail in this area is in very good condition. Parts are paved and the rest is crushed stone that is nice and smooth. And it’s fun to be riding right along the canal itself. Here’s an early morning view:
